Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman was caught up in a shark scare as he enjoyed a swim at Bondi Beach in Australia.

The superstar was seen leaving the water in Sydney with a fellow swimmer as the alarm sounded at around 8am on Friday morning.

According to the Australian Telegraph, a fellow swimmer said he spoke to Jackman at the time. He reportedly asked swimmer Sam Piacenza what was happening.

"I told him there was definitely a shark, he said 'OK I'm getting out'," Mr Piacenza said.

Jackman was then also seen warning others to get out of the water.

According to 9 News, no injuries were reported in the incident.

It's the second drama the actor has found himself in at Bondi this year.

Back in March, he was seen rescuing his son and daughter from a rip tide at Bondi Beach.

One witness said: "When we got in the water 20 minutes earlier it was fine. Then the water just came up suddenly.

"Hugh just pulled them calmly on to the sandbar. He then said, 'All right, we are going to walk towards the flags.'"

The actor reportedly owns an apartment in the area and is a regular at the famous beach.
