Charles to meet UK veterans at Bahrain remembrance service

The Prince of Wales will attend a service of remembrance in Bahrain this morning.

Charles is in the Middle East with the Duchess of Cornwall on behalf of the British Government.

The couple have already visited Oman and the United Arab Emirates. They will leave Bahrain later.

Charles will meet senior military representatives and UK veterans before taking his seat for the service.

Towards the end, he will lay a wreath at the war memorial, followed by Bahraini representatives, foreign ambassadors and military officials.

At the end of the service, Charles - dressed in uniform - will meet other UK veterans who are currently working in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

The first remembrance service was held in Bahrain in 1993.

A service has been held every year since then in the Old Christian Cemetery, one of two Christian cemeteries on the islands.
