Purrfect companion for Kate at premiere of A Street Cat Named Bob
The Duchess of Cambridge will tonight attend the world premiere of a movie about a homeless man's relationship with his feline friend - A Street Cat Named Bob.
Kate will tread the red carpet to watch the film at Mayfair's Curzon cinema with the screening benefiting her charity Action On Addiction.
The film tells the moving and true story of the unlikely friendship between a young homeless busker, James Bowen, and a stray ginger cat who changes his life.
Bob enters the busker's life when he appears, injured, and curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation.
Bowen was living a hand to mouth existence on the streets of London and the last thing he needed was a pet, but he decided to nurse the intelligent tomcat, whom he quickly christened Bob.
Soon the two become inseparable and their diverse, comic and occasionally dangerous adventures transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other's troubled pasts.
Bob himself will make an appearance at the premiere, accompanied by Bowen and, the actor who plays him, Luke Treadaway.
Cast members Ruta Gedmintas and Joanne Froggatt will also attend, along with director Roger Spottiswoode and producer Adam Rolston.
