'Quite busy' Nigel Farage rules out I'm A Celebrity appearance

Nigel Farage has insisted he is not about to appear in the latest series of I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

The interim Ukip leader's name has been linked with the hit reality show in recent days as the the line-up for the looming season begins to emerge.

Asked about speculation that he would take part in the Ant and Dec-fronted series, Mr Farage told the Press Association: "No. I'm not going into anything. It's a very successful show. I'm actually quite busy at the moment."

Media speculation claims Mr Farage has been offered between £250,000 and £750,000 to appear in the ITV show, filmed in the wilds of Australia and famed for making contestants eat gruesome "bush tucker".

Tory MP Nadine Dorries sparked controversy in 2012 when she appeared on the reality show, and former prime minister Margaret Thatcher's daughter Carol was crowned Queen of the Jungle when she won the 2005 series.
