Remember to put your clocks back tonight

British Summer Time ends at 2am on Sunday morning, so don't forget to put your clocks back one hour tonight.

The good news for most of us is that we get an hour in bed - but our hearts go out to night shift workers who might find themselves working an hour extra.

- Most mobile phones, tablet computers, laptops and desktops will make the change automatically so you will need to do nothing.

- But you might find yourself having to change the clock on the cooker, the microwave and the central heating.

- Avoid the Monday morning panic of thinking that you're an hour late for work by sorting out the clock in your car right now.

While the move makes it lighter in the mornings, so most people won't be struggling on the school run or getting to work in the dark, it does mean it gets darker much earlier in the evenings.

The UK puts its clocks forward an hour on the last Sunday of March, and the clocks go back on the last Sunday of October. That means British Summer Time returns on 26 March 2017.
