Man charged with murder over body discovered in lay-by

A 42-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with the discovery of a badly-burned headless corpse in a lay-by near a popular beauty spot.

Ming Jiang, of Falconwood Way in the Beswick area of Manchester, was charged with the killing on Sunday and is due to appear at Chesterfield Justice Centre tomorrow.

Derbyshire Police said the identity of the dead man, who was also missing limbs, would not be released until his family had been informed.

The latest development comes almost two weeks after a male torso, thought to have been contained in a suitcase, was found in a parking area off the A628 to the east of Tintwistle, Derbsyhire.

A member of the public made the grim discovery off the busy transpennine route near the village on the edge of the Peak District National Park at around lunchtime on October 10.
