87-year-old woman stuck in the bath for four days

Doreen Mann, aged 87, from Essex, had to be rescued from her bath after getting stuck in it for four days with no way of calling for help.

Doreen's knees gave way while she was bathing, leaving her unable to move.

With no food and nothing but a towel to keep her warm, she managed to survive for four days. She says she thought to herself at the time: "I suppose I could die in a worse place than this".

For the past ten years, Doreen has been eating every day at a cafe, and fortunately, a young waitress, Sonia Congrave, noticed that she hadn't been into her local cafe in Essex and became increasingly concerned, eventually calling the police.

Doreen calls Sonia friend her angel, and says she has been better than a daughter to her.
