Houston back at Bath to cover injury woes

Bath have confirmed back-row forward Leroy Houston has returned to the club from Queensland Reds on a short-term deal.

Houston, who spent three seasons with Bath before joining the Reds earlier this year, will be available to the Premiership side until the end of October.

His arrival, with the Super Rugby season having been completed, provides a welcome option for director of rugby Todd Blackadder following injuries to David Denton and Taulupe Faletau.

Scotland international Denton is facing up to four months out after sustaining a serious hamstring injury in Bath's weekend win over Newcastle Falcons, while Faletau (knee) is expected to be out for six to eight weeks.

Blackadder told Bath's official website: "We're very excited for Leroy to be coming back to the club for a couple of months to give us some cover whilst we have a few injuries, and we're really thankful to Queensland for helping make this happen.

"He's a fantastic character and a brilliant player, and because he knows the place so well, we know he'll settle straight back in and be a real asset for us."
