Large black bear gets up close and personal with humans

Black bears are very furry and more than a little bit cute but the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is advising people not be deceived by appearances.

Its warning comes in response to a video taken by a Seminole County woman's very close encounter with one of the animals.

The footage shows the bear walking towards her until it is close enough to sniff her knee. Though it quickly loses interest and wanders off, the FWC stresses that the scenario could have played out very differently in a release.

The commission notes: "People should be mindful that black bears are highly unpredictable wild animals."

FWC does not recommend anyone ever getting this close to a bear.
