Jube Valanti Adveppache, 58, suffered a three-hour attack before staggering nearly three miles to his village.

The Daily Mail reports that the bear attacked Jube without warning and would not let him go, attacking and then restarting in a horrific ordeal similar to the movie The Revenant.

It was only once the bear seemed convinced that it had killed him that it stopped.

According to The Sun, Jube was bleeding heavily when he arrived in his village.

He was placed in intensive care with a huge gash across his face and a swollen eye.

Sloth bears are known to attack humans who encroach on their territories. They feed predominantly on termites and have been used as performing pets due to their tamable nature.
