Man held in murder bid probe after police officer hit by van
A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a van struck a police officer.
Leicestershire Police said the officer was responding to reports of a burglary in Loughborough on Sunday afternoon when he was hit by a Ford Transit near the junction of Allendale Road and Hillcrest Drive.
The officer was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre where he is in a "stable condition" and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 434 of August 14.
