A beachgoer has managed to snap a picture of a creepy face trying to escape the Sidmouth cliffs in Devon.

The cliffs have been crumbling for a number of years, and the coastline could soon see a beach management plan in place to protect against further erosion.

According to the Metro, she said: "I was with some friends and none of us could quite believe it.

"I've lived in the town all my life and it's crazy how bad the cliffs are getting."

The Sun reports that she added: "When I was younger we used to be able to walk all the way across from Sidmouth to Salcombe Regis.

"There's no way anyone would want to attempt that now."

Another local, Martin Trainer, told the Exeter Express and Echo: "The face looks unhappy. It's almost like the cliff is warning us of things to come if something isn't done soon about the frequent cliff falls."

According to EastDevon24, the East Devon District Council last week issued a warning to visitors to be cautious when using the beach following a recent large cliff fall.
