Child writes apology to ambulance service for hoax 999 calls

A child has written an "adorable" letter apologising for making hoax calls to the ambulance service.

East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) tweeted the letter from the child who promised never to dial 999 unless it was an emergency.

The note, which the ambulance service said was written by a child in Leicestershire, gave three reasons why they should not make hoax calls.

They included "You will get really told off by the people on the phone" and "It could stop someone else that needs help".

The letter was signed off: "I am so sorry and I understand how serious it was, I promise that I will never ever do it again. I am very, very sorry."
