England's new era feels a lot like Bolton from 10 years ago as Little Sammy joins Big Sam

Updated:

Sam Allardyce has faced the media for the first time since being appointed as England manager, and revealed Sammy Lee will be joining him at the coalface of England's brave new era.

It was not a wholly surprising move, they have been a little-and-large double-act for some time now, but England fans could not help but feel slightly underwhelmed at the fact the future now rests with the same management team that were in control of Bolton a decade ago.

Fans are already preparing for England to take on a Bolton circa 2006 feel.

But that might not be such a bad thing - Bolton were pretty successful under the pair, reaching the Uefa Cup for the first time in their history and finishing inside the top eight for four consecutive seasons.

Hey, it's better than going out to Iceland in the last 16.
