Volkswagen 'should compensate 1.2 million British customers'

An MPs' report has stated that Volkswagen should pay compensation to 1.2 million UK car owners following last year's diesel emissions scandal.

The scandal came to light in September after VW admitted that it installed "defeat device" software on 11 million cars worldwide. This software was designed to give low emissions readings in official tests, allowing the models to pass strict emission laws.
