The UK's best islands 2016

Jersey in the Channel Islands has been named the best island in the UK for 2016 by TripAdvisor.

The largest of the Channel Islands and also the furthest south, the island combines 'continental flair and scenes that are reassuringly familiar', say reviewers.

The island was joined on the list by it's fellow Channel Island, Guernsey, which ranked in sixth place in this year's Traveller's Choice list.

The Hebrides, Scotland, Wales and Isles of Scilly all feature on this year's list too with the Isle of Wight, just off the coast of Hampshire taking the second spot.
