Alexander Skarsgard gushes over Margot Robbie and says Ryan Kwanten is 'a good kisser'

Alexander Skarsgard has praised his "stunningly gorgeous" The Legend Of Tarzan co-star Margot Robbie, but he also said True Blood co-star Ryan Kwanten is "a good kisser".

The Swedish hunk made the comments in Australia during a promotional tour of the upcoming action adventure film in which he stars as Tarzan with Margot, lately seen in The Wolf Of Wall Street, as Jane.

"What makes Margot so beautiful is not only that she's a stunningly gorgeous woman, but that she is not vain," Alexander told The Daily Telegraph in Sydney.

"Margot is so down to earth and fun and that makes it even more attractive. She has got a great sense of humour."

He added that the 25-year-old Australian, who once played Donna Freedman in Neighbours, treats everyone "with respect" and is "just the most caring, generous person".

Alexander, 39, rose to fame as vampire Eric Northman in the HBO series True Blood alongside Australia's Ryan, who portrayed Jason Stackhouse.

Australian TV series The Project couldn't resist pointing out Alexander's affinity for Aussies before asking him to pick the best kisser out of Margot, Ryan and Nicole Kidman - all of whom have locked lips with the Swede on screen.

He said: "Out of the three I've got to say Ryan Kwanten is surprisingly a good kisser actually. He's very tender. You wouldn't think it because he's kind of a tough guy but very soft, gentle, tender touch."

Alexander, who has bulked up his body to play Tarzan, has won an army of fans for his ripped physique.

Tarzan, the legendary character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, is expected to propel Alexander to super-stardom around the globe. The film also stars Samuel L Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, Jim Broadbent and two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz.

In The Legend Of Tarzan, it has been years since the man once known as Tarzan left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as Lord Greystoke with his beloved wife Jane at his side.

He has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly game of greed and revenge.

The Legend Of Tarzan is released in the UK on July 8.
