How did she survive? Woman crushed by off-road car: VIDEO

A shocking video has emerged showing the moment an Icelandic photographer was hit by a one tonne off-road racing car.

Diana Dreki was standing among a crowd of photographers at the bottom of a muddy hill when the vehicle started racing towards them.

Although the others managed to quickly move out of the way of the buggy racing towards them, Dreki, wearing an orange high-vis jacket, was not as lucky.

The footage shows the photographer being struck by the car before falling to the ground. Instantly the other photographers and people standing at the top of the hill flocked towards her to help.

Dreki was taken straight to the nearest hospital by ambulance where doctors ascertained that she had broken her cheekbone as well as having a number of cuts and bruises.

Talking in The Daily Mail, she said: "This was just an accident. He was driving down a very steep slope and I realised that he had lost control of the vehicle. I tried to run as fast as I could but then I felt the car hit me and I fell onto the rocks."

It's clear that Dreki hasn't been phased by the incident either as she is also reported to have said: "It really takes more than a one tonne off-road car to kill me. This goes into my photographer's portfolio."

According to the Mirror the photographer is hoping to be well enough to photograph the next race which is just two and a half weeks away, on 2 July.
