New Survey says Homemaker is the Happiest Job

People who look after their home, including doing all the cooking, cleaning and being responsible for childcare, say they have the happiest jobs, according to a new study.

A survey by insurance firm LV= found that one in seven "homemakers" were dissatisfied with their role, less than half that among other workers such as civil servants or shop workers.

But they put in a 66 hour week on average, with estimates that their work was worth £38,000 a year.

Other jobs with high satisfaction levels included those in hospitality and events management, creative arts and design, charities and leisure, sport and tourism, a survey of 3,100 adults found.
