Assault trial of Real Housewives of Cheshire star to resume

Updated

The assault trial involving reality television personalities Dawn Ward and Sinitta is due to resume today, after the pair were involved in an alleged altercation at a London restaurant.

Real Housewives of Cheshire star Ward is accused of attacking her pop singer acquaintance - full name Sinitta Malone - during a heated discussion aimed at clearing the air between them, Westminster Magistrates' Court previously heard.

The So Macho singer is said to have been left "shocked" and "humiliated" after allegedly being shoved and having a napkin thrown at her at the Salmontini restaurant in central London on April 1 last year.

Ward, who is married to former footballer Ashley Ward and features in the ITV reality show, denies one count of common assault.

The trial was adjourned in February due to time constraints.

The prosecution case is due to conclude today and Ward, of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, is expected to give evidence.
