Flash, bang, wallop - did a meteor just hit Barkingside?

Footage taken late on Sunday night in Barkingside, East London, appears to show a very bright light seen just before very loud explosion.

The bright light has led to speculation that a meteor may have been involved.

Previous loud explosions in the area turned out to be a milk delivery van which was on fire, and a gas cylinder within a fire engine.

The area was also heavily bombed during World War Two.
