True fate of Game of Thrones favourite Jon Snow revealed

Updated

It's been the biggest talking point for Game of Thrones season six - but now fans will finally learn the fate of Jon Snow. This article contains a major plot spoiler.

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has apologised for "lying" to fans.

In a short video the actor said sorry to viewers after the latest episode of the hit TV show showed his character Jon Snow being brought back to life.

The fate of the popular character has been heavily debated after he was left for dead at the end of series five.

He told Entertainment Weekly: "I'd like to say sorry for lying to everyone.

"I'm glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were going to be... were not going to care or just be 'Fine, Jon Snow is dead', but it seems like people did have a...similar to the red wedding episode... a kind of grief about it."

The sixth series of the show, based on George RR Martin's books, made its highly-anticipated return last week.

Fans were left debating Harington's future after Jon Snow's dead body was featured in the first episode, disappointing many who thought he would return then.

The latest episode titled Home, which aired in the US on Sunday night, shows Jon Snow being revived by the sorceress Melisandre, also known as The Red Woman.

The big reveal ends 10 months of speculation after Jon Snow was betrayed and 'stabbed to death' by his brothers from the Night's Watch.

The 29-year-old recently made his West End debut playing Doctor Faustus in a new production of the play.
