A high school basketball team has just lost its star player after he was accused of being a 30-year-old refugee.
Jonathon Nicola, originally from South Sudan, was arrested after spending six months at Catholic Central High School, Windsor, Ontario, reports the Windsor Star.
The 6ft 10in player with size 16 feet had attracted attention for his amazing basketball skills on the Catholic Central Comets senior boys' basketball team, the newspaper said.
The Canada Border Services Agency said Nicola is in custody ahead of a hearing next Tuesday to determine his future.
In a previous interview with the Star, Nicola told the newspaper he left his war-torn home in South Sudan "for a better life".
