Learner driver passes exam despite hitting deer during test

He hit the animal at about 40mph when it ran in front of his car near Fingringhoe, in rural Essex. The examiner checked the car for damage – a cracked front number plate – continued with test and passed Tom with just two minor errors. His driving instructor Robert Jezierski said: “He has kept his composure and he did very well.  “We teach them the emergency stop as part of the curriculum that we cover but it is very rarely that they have to put it into practice.” Tom, from Copford, Essex, was taking his test, in Colchester, on Monday (18 April).

A teenager had a driving test to remember – after killing a deer during the examination and somehow still managing to pass.

Tom Lo hit the animal at 40mph after it ran in front of his learner car in Essex. Once the examiner checked the vehicle over for damage, Lo was allowed to continue and incredibly managed to finish the test with just two minor errors.
