She was trying to take the picture when she dropped her phone and, in the attempt to catch it, slipped and got wedged between the rocks.

It was dark by the time she got rescued by firefighters and she never retrieved her phone.

This story had a happy ending, but a number of reports have recently told how people are losing lives in the bid for the perfect selfie.

Back in May 2015, a teen was turned into a "human fireball" while trying to take the ultimate selfie on top of a train.

Anna Ursu, 18, from Romania, had gone to the railway station with a friend in Lasi in north east Romania to take the selfie with the idea of later posting it on Facebook.

But when she lay down on top of the train and stuck her leg in the air, an electrical field surrounding the overhead cables sent 27,000 volts through her body.

And, back in September 2015, a Japanese tourist died after slipping down the stairs at India's Taj Mahal monument.

Eyewitness Sagar Singh told the BBC that the tourist fell while taking a selfie at the Taj Mahal's Royal Gate.
