Shakespeare comes to Afghanistan
All the drama of William Shakespeare's Hamlet took centre stage inside a tent at the British embassy in Kabul.
The performance in war-ravaged Afghanistan is part of the two-year-long tour by the Globe Theatre company, and the tale of a Danish prince and his quest to avenge the murder of his father is filled with political intrigue, betrayal and obsession - themes not lost on Afghanistan.
Although this production of Hamlet was performed near the site of a rocket attack the night before, the audience focused its attention on the actors.
