Former X Factor host Caroline Flack hits back at rumours she is angry with Olly Murs

Caroline Flack has insisted she is "not bitter" about her X Factor exit and has no hard feelings towards her former co-host Olly Murs - hitting back at reports that she was no longer talking to him.

The TV presenter told her 1.88 million Twitter followers that she actually "wanted to leave" the show herself, and has not fallen out with her pal Olly.

The two replaced Dermot O'Leary as hosts on the ITV talent show, but after just one series Olly stepped down - closely followed by Caroline.

The 36-year-old wrote on Twitter:

Olly and Flackers have a friendship dating back to when they first started out as co-presenters on Xtra Factor in 2011.

That helped them land the main presenting gig on last year's show - but they received a mixed reception from the audience, especially with a series of gaffes.

Caroline was responding to a story in The Sun, in which a source reportedly said: "Caroline felt really disappointed that Olly knew they wouldn't be returning before she did. She thought he'd at least have had the courtesy to tell her.

"In her eyes, the reason he got the gig in the first place was because she'd basically carried him during their stint on spin-off show The Xtra Factor."

The source added: "And his infamous mistake on the live results show last year can't have helped either, she feels. Of course, Olly has his hugely successful pop career and didn't really need The X Factor, but that was Caroline's dream job."
