The Panama Papers: What we know so far

British parliamentarians are among scores of politicians from round the world holding offshore assets, it has been reported following a massive leak of confidential data.

The leak of more than 11 million documents from the Panamanian law firm, Mossack Fonseca, is said to cast an unprecedented light on the way the rich and powerful are able to use tax havens to shield their wealth.

Associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin, FIFA's independent ethics committee member Juan Pedro Damiani and Iceland's prime minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson are among those implicated.
