The most viewed 'property porn'

A new study has revealed we are a nation of 'property porn' addicts. Apparently 2.6 million people nose around properties at least once a day, and two thirds of those who are viewing admit they have no intention of buying.

The study, by Direct Line, found that property snoopers were most likely to be based in Sheffield, London, or Newcastle. And a separate piece of research by Zoopla has tracked down the locations we have been searching in - and the ten properties that Brits have been browsing the most over the past month.

10. Weybridge footballers' house (14,000 views) (above)

This one is ideal for footballers as it's in leafy Weighbridge - at the heart of the footballer zone. It also has the key trappings - including a cinema and swimming pool, and it's in the right price bracket at £9.5 million.

9. Stockbroker's house, Cranleigh (15,000 views ) (below)

This one in the heart of Stockbroker belt offers six bedrooms and an en-suite for the master bedroom. It's handy for open-plan family living, with a kitchen and dining area combined. And when the kids get too noisy there's endless entertaining space they can retreat to with their friends. Of course, you'll need to be a successful stockbroker, because it will set you back £1.675 million.

8. Shiny white house, Cobham £4.595 million (21,000 views)

This new property is not one for messy children or dirty dogs, as behind the shiny white exterior is a vision of white - from the carpets and curtains to the kitchen and flooring - in every room.

7. Kensington mews house, £3.65 million (32,000 views)

You might have thought a three bedroom house was within reach, but probably not many of the thousands of people who browsed this property could stretch to the multi-million pound asking price.

6. Carlisle Townhouse, £204,950 (35,000 views)

Thousands of people seem to have been drawn to the idea of a decent family house at a reasonable price. At the moment, only the marketing suite is open, but it seems to offer stylish family living on a budget.

5) Country cottage charm £895,000 (52,000 views)

The beauty of this country cottage in Little Samford in Saffron Walden has drawn tens of thousands of people. With four bedrooms, a bespoke kitchen with an Aga, and 1.85 acres of land, it's the country cottage dream - at a price.

4) Swanky millionaire style in Gloucester £1.95 million (55,000 views)

There's more than a touch of self-importance to this five-bed pad, which comes equipped with the tick box of millionaire requirements: bi-fold doors, master bedroom with dressing room, cinema room and a gym.

3) Huddersfield huge new build in country style, £1.3 million (129,000 views)

This seven-bedroom detached house has all the feel of a farmhouse, without the bother of an actual farm. It also has the charm and style of an old rural property, but is brand new - which means the charm comes with a modern kitchen, large entertaining spaces and a cinema room.

2. New-build Bromley family home, £1.795 million (174,000 views)

This fancy Kent property is vast, detached, and completely rebuilt in a contemporary style. Features include a family room with floating wall, polished concrete, galleried landing, and a master suite with a dressing room and en-suite. The fact it is such a useful commuter spot, and yet very private, means we've taken to the internet for a nose around.
