A passenger reportedly became violent and disruptive after refusing to stop doing yoga on a United Airlines flight.

The flight was about an hour and a half into its journey from Honolulu to Japan on Saturday when Hyongtae Pae, 72, who was returning from a 40th wedding anniversary holiday with his wife, refused to follow orders from cabin crew to stay seated.

He reportedly screamed at them, telling FBI officials that he hadn't wanted to sit while flight attendants served a meal, preferring to do yoga and meditate.

After refusing to return to his seat, other passengers, inducing five US Marines, were asked to help to restrain him.

According to Fox2 Now, Pae allegedly tried to headbutt and bite one of the marines, and also threatened to kill one of the people restraining him.

Khon2 reports that Pae was charged with interfering with a flight crew.

According to the Daily Mail, US Magistrate Judge Kevin Chang ordered that Pae be released on bail but with certain conditions including not leaving the island of Oahu and undergoing a mental health evaluation.
