We've all had the awful moment when you spill red wine on that crisp white table cloth.

But what do you do to get rid of the tough stains? Don't worry, you don't need to waste your nice white wine on it.

There's five simple steps you can follow:

1) Dab at the stain with a damp, white cotton cloth.

2) Slide a bowl under the fabric, centering the stain.

3) Secure with a large rubber band.

4) Sprinkle salt on it.

5) Add boiling water and then remove it from the bowl before popping in the washing machine.

The stain will be almost gone after adding the boiling water, and the machine wash should then remove it completely.

Easy, quick and simple.
