A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a popular shopkeeper who was attacked outside his shop.

Asad Shah, 40, was found seriously injured in Minard Road, Glasgow, on Thursday night and was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

Police Scotland confirmed on Friday that a 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Mr Shah's death.

The force said in a statement: "A full investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death which is being treated as religiously prejudiced."
