Updated

Detectives investigating a sex attack on an eight-year-old girl in a Greggs bakery shop have released CCTV images of potential witnesses they want to trace.

The attack happened shortly after 3.30pm on Friday February 12 when the girl was waiting with her younger brother in the seating area of Greggs in The Headrow in Leeds while their mother paid at the counter.

A 34-year-old man, from Bradford, has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and is currently on police bail.

West Yorkshire Police said they "urgently" need to speak to the people shown in the CCTV images.

They are described as a man in a dark coat with dark hair, who appeared to be with a woman with short, grey hair and glasses, and a woman with blonde hair who was wearing a large white scarf.

Detective Inspector Dave Cowley said: "We are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of this incident and urgently need to speak to the people who are shown on these CCTV images as being in Greggs at the time the incident occurred.

"We believe these people may have information that could assist the investigation and we would like to speak to them as potential witnesses at the earliest opportunity."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Kelda Hardwick at Elland Road police station on 101, quoting crime number 13160073167.
