I only wanted to be X Factor judge once, says Nick Grimshaw

Nick Grimshaw has said being a judge on The X Factor was something he only "wanted to do once".

The Radio 1 DJ, who was a first-time judge on the ITV talent show in 2015, recently announced he would not be returning this year.

The X Factor co-hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack have also stepped down.

Speaking at the Elle Style Awards at Tate Britain in London, he said: "It was one of those things that I thought about over Christmas when I had some time off, and I thought that it was one of those things that I just definitely wanted to do once.

"And I loved it, and I'll miss it I guess, but I think whoever does it next, they're going to have the best time, because it's really, really fun."

Grimshaw, who hosted the evening, wore a double breasted navy-and-white dotted Dolce & Gabbana suit.

On his outfit choice, he said: "I like that it's kind of pyjama-y, which I think is okay.

"And no offence to the people who made it, I love it - I just thought it looked quite easy to wear. I quite like a suit that looks like you can just throw it on and wear it."

Paloma Faith wore an Armani Prive feathered top in black, turquoise and purple - complete with padded shoulders - alongside velvet trousers.

Explaining her look, she said: "'She's arrived!' was the sentence that I said to my stylist. He was like: 'What do you want to look like?' And I was like, I want them to say: 'She's arrived'."

The singer and musician, who is a judge on The Voice UK, said that it was up to the contestants to make the most of their success on the show.

She said: "I think the show has multiple stars this year, but I think it's really important that people realise that to make a star, it's not just about a voice.

"So going on from the competition afterwards, it's all about work ethic, song-writing, and commitment. And that's up to them."

She added: "I'm really excited about the live shows. I can't wait for people to see what I'm doing, and who with, and I'm waiting for the inevitable abuse on Twitter when they all realise who I've put through."

Daisy Lowe said she had worked closely with designer Giles Deacon to create her outfit, and felt like a "rogue fairy".

She explained: "Giles Deacon is a real genius. I was just very lucky that I got to go and have a full couture experience with Giles, got to go into his archive, and he got to rework and fit."

The fashion model picked out a silver dress with a full skirt and a revealing shredded top to wear to the awards show.

"It was loads of fun, and I just kind of feel like a rogue fairy," she said.

Singer Charli XCX arrived in a green satin dress by Vivienne Westwood.

Model and artist Tali Lennox, daughter of singer Annie Lennox, wore a headdress consisting of gold leaves, designed by Wilhelm.

She set this off with a simple Burberry white and gold dress, and a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes.
