A newly-wed bride will go on trial charged with murdering her solicitor husband.

Sharon Edwards, 42, is accused of stabbing to death husband David Edwards, 51, at their £300,000 home in Chorley, Lancashire on August 23 last year.

The couple were married in June last year and had only recently returned from their honeymoon.

Mr Edwards, a criminal defence solicitor of 26 years, had been a partner at a local law firm, Kevills, based in Chorley, until being made redundant.

Edwards, of Parkers Wood Close, Chorley will go on trial at Manchester Crown Court on Monday.
