National Geographic Traveller announces photography competition winners

National Geographic Traveller has announced the winning image in its 2016 photography competition.

The Grand Prize winner in Jeremy Flint with his spectacular image of of a leg-rowing fisherman.

The winning photograph was take on Inle Lake in Myanmar and Jeremy said: "Seen through a cone-shaped fishing net, I wanted to capture a unique view of the fisherman at work. The image shows the incredible paddling skill and amazing sense of balance the fishermen develop at a very young age."

David Godfrey won the Photography prize with his picture of a puffin flying over Skomer Island in Wales and the Portfolio prize was won by Alan O'Riordan who documented the people of Cuba.

In the Mobile category Megan Lee came out on top with her photograph of zebras at a nature reserve in south east England and Martin Kelly won the Video category with his film of Iceland.

For those hoping to catch a glimpse of these beautiful pieces of art along with the other shortlisted entries, the images will be on display at theprintspace between 3 and 15 March 2016.

The winners of this year's National Geographic Traveller competition will be sent on a photographic commission to incredible destinations including Vietnam, Tanzania, Abu Dhabi, Iceland and Italy.

The winning photographs will also be included in the April issue of National Geographic Traveller (UK) magazine.
