He explained what happened in his caption, writing: "I was called to relocate a very defensive Carpet Python in Currimundi this week. As soon as I touched it to see how it would react, It made it very clear that it did not want to be messed with.

"The snake was perched on a fence at eye level and after striking at my face twice I decided this wasn't going to be another run-of-the-mill Carpet Python catch.

"The snake had a full belly so I did not want to restrain the head and stress it out causing it to regurgitate its meal.

"I was hopping once I got it off the fence it might calm down for me but instead it crawled up my arm and latched onto the back of my head.

"Obviously this didn't go to plan but at the end of the day it was a small price to pay for the snake to keep its meal and be relocated with minimal stress.

"If you watch closely you can see blood running down my neck haha.

"Have a great night everyone and enjoy a laugh at my misfortune."
