Drivers using phone behind the wheel face tougher fines

Drivers who are caught using their mobile phones behind the wheel could now face tougher penalties, under a new plan being considered by Government ministers.

A Department for Transport consultation has told the BBC that the Government's "preferred option" is to deal out more penalty points and larger fines for offending drivers.
