Sylvester Stallone will join co-stars for Creed premiere
Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone will join co-stars from his new movie Creed for its European premiere in London's Leicester Square tonight.
The film, directed by Ryan Coogler, explores a new chapter in the story of boxer Rocky Balboa (Stallone). Balboa is tracked down by the son of his former rival Apollo Creed and persuaded to re-enter the sport as the young athlete's trainer.
Stallone won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for reprising the role.
After accepting the accolade and reeling off a list of acknowledgements, he concluded: "Last of all, I want to thank my imaginary friend Rocky Balboa for being the best friend I ever had."
Michael B Jordan, who plays Creed's son Adonis Johnson, will join Stallone on the red carpet, along with co-stars Tessa Thompson, British boxing champion Tony Bellew and Coogler.
