The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will carry out an official visit to Bhutan this spring as part of their trip to India, Kensington Palace has announced.

The royal couple will tour the remote nation in the heart of the region dominated by India and China, at the request of the UK Government.

Kate and Prince William have never been to the country, which was isolated from the world for much of the 20th century.
