Police watchdog to probe handling of missing ex-EastEnders actress inquiry

Updated

The investigation into the disappearance of an ex-Eastenders actress is being referred to the police watchdog.

Scotland Yard is preparing to refer the inquiry into missing Sian Blake, 43, and her two children to the Independent Police Complaints Commission today.

The force is facing questions over why it took three weeks before murder squad detectives were called to lead the case, and three bodies found.

The devastating discovery was made yesterday in the garden of the family home in Erith, Kent, that Ms Blake shared with her partner, Arthur Simpson-Kent.

Police are now urgently trying to find the 48-year-old, who was last seen three days after his family vanished.
