Bar's Response to Complaint Over 'Ruined' New Year's Eve Goes Viral

A bar in Indianapolis has received widespread support after responding to a particularly vitriolic complaint from a customer on their Facebook page.

Holly Jones wrote on the Facebook page for Kilroy's in Downtown Indiana, complaining about the treatment she and her family received on New Year's Eve.

The full rant can be seen in the video above but some of what she wrote included: "After the way we were treated when we spent $700+ and having our meal ruined by watching a dead person being wheeled out from an overdose my night has been ruined!!!"

She went on to add: "The manager also told us someone dying was more important then us being there making us feel like our business didn't matter, but I guess allowing a Junkie in the building to overdose on your property is more important then paying customers who are spending a lot of money!!"

Chris Burton from the bar took to Facebook to respond to Miss Jones' dramatic comment. He confirmed that instead of an 'overdosing junkie' the patient was in fact a women, around 70-years-old, who had a heart attack while enjoying New Year's celebrations with her husband and son.

He said: "This poor lady, who was celebrating New Year's Eve with her husband and son, had to be placed on the floor of a completely packed bar and have her shirt removed in front of everyone so the paramedics could work on her."

Burton finished the message saying: "But honestly, I'm glad to hear you won't be coming back to Kilroy's because we wouldn't want anyone as cold hearted and nasty as you returning. I appreciate anyone who chooses to spend their money at Kilroy's until they act like you. You can take your money anywhere else after that, and I won't lose a second of sleep over it. Happy New Year!"

Holly Jones has since taken down her Facebook profile so the original post on the Facebook page is not longer visible.

The women who suffered the heart attack luckily survived the incident but is still recovering in hospital. Her family have set up a Go Fund Me page, called Mom's Medical, to help deal with the inevitable medical bills that will come their way during the recovery process.

Kilroy's has since donated $700 to the cause, mirroring the amount Miss Jones claimed to have spent on New Year's Eve.
