Arriva Trains Wales overtime ban begins ahead of strike

Drivers at Arriva Trains Wales (ATW) have started an overtime ban ahead of a new year strike in a row over pay and conditions.

Members of Aslef are due to walk out on January 4 - the first day back to work for many after the festive break.

The union said the overtime ban was already having an impact, claiming that, like many train operators, ATW relies on drivers working overtime.

The union said it was available for talks, claiming that the management at ATW appeared to be in no hurry to resolve the dispute.
