Shoppers were left open-mouthed in Glasgow on Monday when a blue-haired woman apparently tried to talk a fox down from a Pizza Hut ledge.

The incident occurred at the restaurant in Argyle Street, reports the Evening Times.

Twitter user Callum Gallacher posted a picture of the scene on Twitter, writing: "A blue haired woman trying to talk down a fox off a Pizza Hut roof. Just another day in Glasgow."

More pictures of the scene were shared on social media by onlookers, with one woman writing: "Meanwhile, in central Glasgow, Fantastic Mr Fox falls foul of Pizza Hut's new dress code and attempts to sneak in."

Scottish SPCA officer Jan Toraman was called to the scene and, thankfully, reported that the fox appeared to be fine after its ordeal.

According to the Mirror, Jan said: "I was called to an unusual rescue when a young fox was spotted on the ledge of a building on Argyle Street, Glasgow.

"When I arrived the fox had jumped down and was hiding under a bus. However, when I approached it ran away into a disused car park.

"I followed the fox along with police officers who were on the scene but it made off. It appeared to be running on all four legs without any problems so we don't think it has been injured."
