The world's longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge has now been completed in China.

The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge in the Pingjiang county is 1,230ft long and 984ft high.

The £2.6million bridge was designed by Israeli architect Haim Dotan.

According to the Metro, although the building work is finished, the bridge won't be open to the general public until May 2016.

However, at the beginning of November, more than 100 people performed yoga on the suspension bridge that overlooks the Shiniuzhai National Geopark.

The bridge, which apparently sways in the wind, spans a chasm at the national park, popular with tourists for its unique rock formations and geography.

Walkers see clear, stomach-churning views of the ground 180 metres below.

Park management authorities added a small section of glass last year but decided to transform the entire length of the crossing.

The floor is made of a double layer of glass and is 24mm thick in total.

The Arch Daily reports that the bridge comprises two side steel beams, a structural glass deck, handrails and side suspension cables, and has the capacity to hold up to 800 people at a time.

It also has a bungee jumping spot and will be used as a runway for fashion shows.

Creator Mr Dotan said: "The Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge was designed to be invisible as possible - a white bridge disappearing into the clouds."

Would you dare walk across it?
