Elephants may reach heights of 13 ft and weights of 6,350 kg in adulthood, but when they're babies, they are still relatively small, and this proves problematic for some.

A waterhole in Africa proved to be a bit of a stumbling block for this adorable baby elephant, but thankfully he got by with a little help from his family.

The baby can be seen struggling to make his way out of the slippery mud hole. H places his front legs over the edge but doesn't seem to be able to pull himself up and over onto the drier land.

Luckily for this little guy a more experienced elephant rushed to the rescue to help him! But it was a team effort in the end with a couple of other members of the heard coming to lend a helping hand (and trunk) to the baby of the group.

He was eventually heaved up the slippery slope and back onto flat land where he joyfully ran between the bigger elephants legs, presumably happy to be back on more stable ground.

The cute moment was captured at the Kruger National Park in Africa.

In July this year we saw another baby elephant in the park making the most of his freedom and playing with some rather unexpected friends!

The little animal can be seen frolicking down the road with a flock of low-flying swallows.

The precious moment was captured by Mariana de Klerk who said: "The mother and baby started playing. First she went down onto the ground to his level and the next moment and she lifted the baby up into the air just like we humans do."
