Senators end Stars' run, Getzlaf impresses

Updated:

The Ottawa Senators emphatically ended the Dallas Stars' five-match winning streak in the NHL with a 7-4 win on Tuesday.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Mark Stone had three points as the Senators crushed the Central Division leaders at American Airlines Center.

The Senators had rolled out to a 5-1 lead when Pageau struck early in the third period.

Stars left wing Jamie Benn continued his goalscoring form with two for his team, who had reduced the deficit to 5-3 before going down.

Pageau scored twice and provided an assist, while Stone netted once and set up two others for the second-placed team in the Atlantic Division.

Ryan Getzlaf bettered that for the Anaheim Ducks as he equalled a franchise record with five assists in his team's 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Getzlaf was involved in every Ducks goal as they rallied from 2-0 and 3-2 down.

Rickard Rakell, Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler scored third-period goals for the Ducks, who are fifth in the Pacific Division.
