We're all getting used to hearing about driverless cars by now, but few will be really familiar with the technology they use.

Rather than relying on human eyeballs, autonomous vehicles use a suite of technologies to perceive the world around them, tying in video, infrared, radar and laser scanning devices with GPS data to draw their own picture of the world.
