A man has been charged over a string of sex assaults against women in south London, police have said.

Scotland Yard charged Mehdi Midani, 24, of no fixed abode, with six counts of sexual assault and two counts of exposure following the alleged attacks in Clapham and Brixton between October 22and 31.

Midani, who was arrested on Monday in the Brixton Hill area, will appear in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court today.

Nine women have been attacked in a series of incidents in Clapham and Brixton in the last month which police believe are linked.

Officers have arrested three other men in connection with the assaults and warned women to be "vigilant" after nine women, aged between 23 and 35, were attacked.

Two men, aged 34 and 30, were bailed pending further inquiries and a third man, aged 32, was arrested in the early hours of today.
