Dog attack leaves girl, 8, with broken nose and bite marks

An eight-year-old girl has suffered a broken nose and bite marks to her face after she was attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier.

The youngster was walking with her mother in Colwood Crescent, Eastbourne, East Sussex, at 8.30pm on Saturday, October 17, when she was attacked by the black and white dog.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "The child was bitten in the face by the terrier when it leapt at her while being walked by a white girl, 16-18 years old, 5ft 10in, wearing a grey hoodie.

"She sustained bite marks and a broken nose which required hospital treatment."
